Everything you need to protect your investment, extend the life of your hair and keep it looking salon-fresh every day.
Wash your extensions once or twice a week using a sulphate-free shampoo. Sulphates strip natural oils and cause premature dryness and tangling. Use lukewarm water — never hot — and gently work the shampoo from root to tip in a downward motion. Avoid scrubbing or bunching the hair together.
Always wash in one direction to prevent tangling. Never rub the hair in a circular motion.
Because extensions don't receive natural oils from your scalp, they need regular moisture. Use a deep conditioning treatment once a week, leaving it on for 20–30 minutes under a shower cap for best results. For daily maintenance, a lightweight leave-in conditioner keeps the hair soft and manageable between washes.
Avoid applying conditioner to the roots or weft — focus on the mid-lengths and ends where dryness occurs first.
Always detangle on damp hair, never dry. Start from the ends and work your way up to the roots in small sections. Use a wide-tooth comb or a dedicated extension brush — avoid fine-tooth combs which cause breakage. Hold the hair firmly at the mid-section as you detangle the ends to reduce tension on the weft.
Detangle before every wash to prevent knots from tightening when the hair gets wet.
Our hair can be heat-styled, but always use a heat protectant spray before applying any tool. Keep temperatures below 180°C to maintain the hair’s integrity. Air drying is always the gentler option — when time allows, let the hair dry naturally before styling. Avoid applying direct heat to the weft or bonds.
The less heat you use, the longer your hair lasts. Consider heatless styling methods like braiding damp hair overnight for natural waves.
When not in use, store your extensions in a silk or satin bag to minimise friction and prevent tangling. Never store hair when it is wet or damp — this causes mildew and permanent damage. For wigs, a wig stand is ideal to maintain the shape of the cap. Keep away from direct sunlight which can cause colour fading over time.
Sleep in a satin bonnet or on a satin pillowcase to reduce friction on your install every night.
With proper care, our single-donor hair lasts 12–24 months. Trim the ends every 3 months to remove any split ends that cause tangling. Avoid chlorine and saltwater where possible — if you swim, braid the hair first and wash immediately after. The more consistent you are with your routine, the longer your hair will look and feel like new.
Think of your extensions like a cashmere jumper — gentle handling, proper storage and the right products make the difference between 6 months and 2 years.
